How You Made Them Feel

Maya Angelou often said, “…people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Words have power. Keep track of the impact they have on those around you. Track the real impact, not your intended one. Remember how someone in your past casually uttered a sentence or sentiment that had a real and unintended effect on you. Be sensitive to the fact that you can intentionally, or accidentally, impact someone for better or worse. Position your words with inspiration, high energy, encouragement, and empathetic support.
